Kitchen Cabinet Design U Shape Designs
U-shaped kitchen is a kitchen that home seekers crave because the design offers so much space for cupboard placement. This ‘U’ shaped kitchen places the supporting units on three sides of the room with the fourth side left open as an entrance or access to the family room.
This design can be combined with the dining area if the width of the room allows. Open spaces often present the opportunity to make a single ‘U’ arm a link that can be accessed from both sides, such as can be used as a breakfast bar, or as a double-sided storage area.
There is no specific reference to regulate where the stove, refrigerator or sink is located; and the kitchen can be a combination of one or more existing layout designs. For example, you could have an L-shaped kitchen with an island or peninsula concept, or with a Galley kitchen connected at one end.
In designing functional kitchens, the application of the triangle concept must be considered, which means the distance between the sink, stove, and refrigerator should not be more than 1200mm. However, the concept of a triangle has now developed along with the development of kitchen performance which is increasing and the development of gadgets and the birth of new equipment.
Compared to the era of the kitchen in the 1940s where the kitchen is a special place and is common for housewives, the development of the idea of kitchen design is now much more advanced. The use of a microwave, a separate cooking stove with an oven, the existence of a special area to prepare food with an additional mini sink and the work of the para team, has changed the traditional kitchen work triangle.
As the development of modern kitchens presents a new/specific task area, the idea of a secondary work triangle has become commonplace in kitchen performance systems.
